Below you will find the first 10 pages of " Main Street Yesteryear " which was published for our first 100 years of Philadelphia, NY. This book was written for the Centennial Celebration held in 1972. These  pages that you will find below were written by Gwen Acheson who was the Philadelphia Town Historian for many Years. Gwen also served in WWW II as well as being the Commander of American Legion, Robert Markwick Post No 798 she was a true Philadelphian. I remember the centennial  celebration as a teenager. It was a big to do as citizens of Philadelphia came together to celebrate our past 100 years.
